The William Chrisman student council (StuCo) has significantly grown in comparison to last year. Sponsors Lauren Brandmueller and Desirae Harrison, have been excited about the growth of the student council as a whole, and what the future holds for the school.
“Our goals for this year is to increase student involvement, and create a better atmosphere at William Chrisman,” says Harrison.
The council leaders hope to see a change in things around William Chrisman. That includes how many students participate, getting more things done, and overall having fun.
Along with getting the opportunity to lead, while in Student Council, there are more benefits from being a member. As president Faith Kolb says, “Being in stuco means to be a leader, but it also means you have the power to change the school,”
Stuco members say that with the number of council members growing, which makes it a lot easier to be able to change the school for the better.
Like in every situation there are good and bad things, but in a council of 110 members, the good definitely outweighs the bad.
“It's good to have many members because we should be able to get more things done in less time,” Brandmueller says. By having such a big council they hope to get more goals achieved, and be able to increase the spirit within the school.
Overall the stuco leaders are hoping to continue to see the growth of the council to be able to change the spirit in the school, get more things accomplished, and most importantly having fun with it.
The leaders of StuCo hope that the growth continues into next school year and even years to come. They would like to get as many people involved as possible, in order to better the high school experience for everyone and to better the environment of Chrisman.
